Depression & Sexual Function – Tail Suspension

Mice that are suspended by their tails become motionless, similar to the immobility behaviors exhibited in the forced swim test. A large variety of clinically active typical and atypical antidepressants reduces this immobility.

Pretreatment with desipramine (5, 10, and 20 mg/kg; i.p.) significantly decreases time immobile in 129SVEV (top), C57BL/6J (middle) and DBA/2J (bottom) mice.
