The Social Interaction is a conflict test that can be used as a behavioral model for testing anxiolytic as well as neuroleptic compounds. A pair of rats from the same treatment group is placed in a novel open field environment and the number of interactions (following, sniffing, grooming, and climbing) are measured for 6 minutes.

        (A)(B)
The Anxiolytic drug, diazepam (A) and CDP (B) increased the amount of interaction time between rats in a social environment.
